In researching for new blogs, I always run across interesting articles, even if I decide not to write on them. Occasionally, I run across an article like this one that tells of a woman’s hidden art gallery located behind a friend’s plumbing company, or this one that tells of the actor Hugh Grant and his wife donating to a company that offers free plumbing to those in need. Sometimes I see fun articles like this one posting funny plumbing stories and pics. I often see advice given like in this article about winterizing your pipes or this one warning customers to avoid a certain overpriced business. I tend to skip past those that use the term ‘plumbing’ for gastrointestinal blogs or even financial advice, but they’re always there. With each of these articles, they cause me to realize a simple truth: plumbing is a major part of our lives.
With those feel-good stories like the art gallery made possible by the plumber friend or the man who started offering free plumbing to older folks now being supported by celebrities, there is a deep sense of community with so many plumbers. Perhaps that desire to give back is born out of a job that is inherently based in helping the community. With fun stories, you realize plumbers see the weirdest and often most disgusting things, but many attempt to find humor in it. They see the dirtiest parts of a person’s home and yet they find the positivity and occasional hilarity in their jobs. When they give advice, they are just trying to help the average person avoid disasters in their home. Why? It certainly benefits them financially when they can do emergency work, so why give advice? Perhaps it is because plumbers care about the people they serve. We know how difficult and expensive repairs are, and we want to help people where possible.
We at Apex are no different. We realize the expense and hassle involved in repairing or replacing your underground plumbing so we try to give the best advice we can to help you out.
